Our Learning

In Spring 1, History and DT are our learning journey enquiries.

 

In History, our golden thread is ‘power and influence’ and we are focusing on Ancient Egypt! We will be looking at life in Ancient Egypt and how their beliefs in gods affected their daily life; we will be exploring different historical sources to help us collect this information. The outcome of this enquiry will be an extended written piece.

 

In Maths this term, we will continue to look at multiplication, division, and fractions. We will also start to look at test-technique and will start practicing arithmetic tests ready for Y6 SATs.

RWE

Our learning focus for RWE this half term is ‘What does it mean if Christians believe God is holy and loving?’

 

​PE

We have PE on Wednesdays and Fridays. Children to wear their PE kits to school on these days.​

​

Home Learning

This will be sent out on a Friday, to be completed for the following Friday. It will include: dates for your diary, spellings, handwriting, reading, and activities linked to our current learning enquiry and maths unit.

Multiplication Facts

Use Times Tables Rock Stars to practise times tables fluency.

​

Reading

Children are expected to read for 15 minutes each day. Books can be chosen from the class or school library, or one from home if they prefer.

We use the Sparx Reader app to log our reading and answer comprehension questions.​​

Spellings

Set weekly as part of home learning and tested on Friday.
