​Welcome to Year 2! This term, we’re diving into exciting learning across the curriculum. In PE, children should come dressed in their kits every Monday. Reading remains a priority for home learning, with phonics books and pleasure reads sent home weekly—please leave a comment in their reading diary to support progress. Our Maths focus is on place value, recognising tens and ones, partitioning numbers, and counting in 2s, 3s, 5s, and 10s. In Art, we’re learning to sketch garden birds using shapes, proportion, and shading. Citizenship is a key value, and we’re encouraging kindness when learning together. In RWE, we’re exploring the key beliefs and ways of living for Muslims, fostering respect and understanding through stories and discussion.

 

PE

Year 2 have PE on a Monday. Children can come into school wearing their PE kits on these days.

Home learning

Children will be sent home with homework every Friday.

Forest School

Year 2 will go to forest school every Monday morning.
