This week in Thinking Thursday Act Of Worship we explored the question "Why do we light three candles at the beginning of our Act of Worship?"
The children had some excellent ideas, including to represent our core values and to symbolise that we were all together as a school community.
Eventually we agreed that the candles represent the Trinity - Father, Son and Holy Spirit. we began to explore how God can be Father, son and Holy spirit, then we looked at some symbols which represent the Trinity.
We noticed that the common feature was the 'threeness' of the symbols, but people varied in their choice about a favourite one.
I challenged the children to devise their own symbol for the Trinity. Well done to Megan and Jessica who gave me a symbol at lunchtime on Thursday, which they had been working on in their spare time.
