This week we welcomed Stargazey Pie, a local ceilidh band, into school. Jo Castle, who teaches recorder in Years 3 and 4, and also supports in EYFS, is a member of the group.
They very kindly agreed to come and play for Y3 to demonstrate the importance of collaboration and listening when playing as part of a group and to give our children a sample taste of folk music.
All the children thoroughly enjoyed the session and had opportunities to ask the band some questions.
The band then played in the hall for EYFS while they performed their broom dance for the whole school.
The EYFS children were able to teach Y6 how to broom dance too!
We send a very big thank you to Jo and to Stargazey Pie for supporting our learning.
