Silver Bells Visitors
7th June 2017
This week we have enjoyed working with three teachers from Silver Bells School in Ghaziabad, India. The partnership between the two schools grows stronger each year, having been established in 2003. Please see the International Partnerships section of the website – under the About Us heading.
Neerja, Ritu and Rekha brought with them a wealth of opportunities for learning, especially with regard to finding out about other faiths, cultures and traditions.
The children and staff have shown great hospitality to the visitors and the children were able to talk in our special welcome assembly about ways in which we could make our visitors feel happy and part of the school family.
Clayton suggested that we give them some flowers, Reception Class said that we should sing them a song, and Lexie’s idea was to give them a school badge to help them to be part of our school family. We did all of those things and Billy said that he wanted them to have a warm glow inside!
Rekha Ma’am, Neerja Ma’am and Ritu Ma’am have worked very hard in all of the classes, working on science experiments, art and story- telling. They have thoroughly enjoyed their visit – with opportunities for sightseeing and meeting up with good friends in the evenings.
In their Farewell Assembly, we gave them gifts to take back to Silver Bells, the recorder group played, the band played, and we sang their favourite song - Count on Me!
Thank you to the governors who attended the assembly and made the presentations.
We received a beautiful painting from Silver Bells which we will frame and put up in our school hall.
