14th December 2017
Here is a selection of photos from our Christmas celebrations this year.
Firstly, we enjoyed making Christingles with our buddy partners and then participating in our very own Christingle Service in school.
We loved watching the glow of the candle flame as we turned off all the lights in the hall. For Christians, the flame represents Jesus as the light of the world and the light is a symbol of hope. The orange represents the world, the sweets are the fruits of the earth and the red ribbon symbolises God's love for everyone.
Then, on Wednesday , we enjoyed Christmas dinner. A big thank you to Wayne and the kitchen staff, and to the MTAs for making it such a special occasion.
Finally we held our Tree Service where we lit our 4th and 5th advent candles, and collected our envelopes of money for Little Bridge House, the very special Children's Hospice that is our nominated charity. We collected over £130 in donations - thanks to all who contributed.
Our service included performance from Class Reception, who sang the title song 'Star' from their nativity play, a rendition of Little Donkey by Class One, from their carol concert, some excellent singing from the choir and beautiful recorder playing from the Recorder club, who played at the start and end of the Service. Year Four took up the challenge of performing Silent Night in Spanish, which was fantastic!
Our Service ended with some thoughtful prayers from Y6.
